The Thompson Street side of Adaire felt the love on Saturday, Oct. 25th, as Friends of Adaire weeded, cleaned and replanted around the curbside trees and repainted the visitors entrance around the new mural on what we called "ADAIRE CARES DAY!" On Friday, we cleaned out an unused room we'll use for a child-friendly meeting space in the near future.
Want to DONATE TO SUPPORT OUR WORK? We've made that easier than ever via PayPal! Friends of Adaire received notice that we were granted OFFICIAL 501(c)3 STATUS on Friday, Oct. 3, so all donations since July 1st are tax-deductible! Now we're able to really raise funds to support the education at Adaire!
Our Amazon Wishlist SCHOOL SUPPLIES DRIVE is an easy way for you to buy what Adaire teachers have specifically requested. Also, please consider donating to help buy tablets or laptops for students through DonorsChoose.org.

The Adaire schoolyard is going to be transformed, and Friends of Adaire is facilitating the effort to collect community input to help shape it! We hosted three VISIONING SESSIONS FOR A NEW SCHOOLYARD we're working to bring to Adaire. A new playground and green space seem to be part of the future, but what kind? And what else? These sessions collected community input to provide our partners with the City and School District with a clear sense of what we want to see come to the concrete schoolyard at Palmer and Thompson! All three were at Adaire, designed to be accessible to people with different schedules. They took place on Sept. 30th, Oct. 9th, and October 18th.
Friends of Adaire organized our first field trip for Adaire students! On Friday, Oct. 17th, we brought Adaire’s 8th graders to the annual PHILLY HIGH SCHOOL FAIR AT DREXEL University! The 8th graders also met with students from Drexel’s International Area Studies program, who shared their insights about high school and preparing for college.
